Continue 32

Sans is being woken up by Papyrus, and they are present with Undyne, W. D. Gaster and Asgore Dreemurr at the Barrier. They are all confused by the gigantic black ball of HATE, which happened to have Asriel Dreemurr, Frisk, and Chara inside it. Chara reveals to Asriel that this whole situation began when Frisk got bored of repeating the True Pacifist Route, so he decided to go on the Genocide Route out of curiosity but because Frisk lacked the courage to finish it, Chara entered. As Frisk was killing monsters, every monsters's hatred towards him caused a strong emotion construct known as HATE to manifest in Frisk's SOUL, making him the person to blame for this situation.

Continue 62

Chara explains that all these glitches across space time were the result of the timeline being reset in a moment Frisk was not supposed to be able to, which was right after the Battle at the Last Corridor. In the end, all the HATE generated was infused into Chara. After that, Chara tells Asriel that he's trying to make Frisk pay for what he did. He also reveals that Frisk giving Asriel his SOUL while being alive was another glitch, and if Asriel breaks the Barrier, Frisk would actually die. Furthermore, if another Reset happens, the timeline will erase itself.

Continue 100

Using his Determination, Chara creates the button to "ERASE" the timeline, considering it the only solution to the problem. Chara is not able to press it, so he requests Asriel to do so. Asriel recalls how Frisk forgave him for his actions, so he states that Frisk deserves a second chance. Chara is not convinced, so Asriel destroys the "ERASE" button, saying he forgives Frisk, and with Chara deciding to fight Asriel, the Battle of New Home begins.

Continue 147

During their battle, Asriel defends himself against Chara's Chromas Real Knife while the latter is further enveloped in HATE. In the midst of the confrontation, Chara and Asriel's respective Heart Lockets reveal themselves from their respective necks. Asriel tells Frisk that he cannot fight Chara, but he could change his adoptive brother's mind, since Chara still keeps the locket. Chara denies about still caring about him, so he destroys his own locket, but he cannot hold back his regretful tears.

Continue 190

Asriel plans to get help to get rid of HATE from Chara, so Frisk calls for help, resulting in the spirits of the six children who fell into the Underground before Frisk to appear. Each of the spirits represents each of the SOUL Traits, with those being Kindness, Perseverance, Justice, Integrity, Bravery and Patience, and they all attack Chara with their traits, slowing unearthing his past memories with Asriel. Finally, Asriel blasts some determination at Chara, causing the HATE to start flowing away.

Continue 226

After Asriel transforms back into his child self and reminds Chara of all the nice things Asriel knows about him. While explaining how much of a good person Chara really is, but the HATE-infused Chara tries to deny this. Asriel approaches Chara, telling him that he cares about him more than anybody, and when Chara tries to stab him, Asriel embraces him, reminding that they are best friends. This breaks Chara free from HATE at long last, so the tearful Chara reciprocates.

Continue 254

Unfortunately, since Chara's determination is gone, he is fading away from existence. Chara, however, uses the remains of his own SOUL as a vessel for the other traits Asriel gathered. Upon dying in front of the dismayed Asriel, Chara creates a new Rainbow SOUL for Asriel. Now having his own SOUL, Asriel hands back Frisk's, allowing him to go back to his body and have control over the timeline again. Using his rainbow SOUL and the other six SOULs, Asriel destroys the Barrier.

Continue 278

With the ball of HATE gone, Asriel has an emotional reunion with his parents, and so, Frisk and his old and new friends arrive at the Surface. Despite everyone being content with the circumstances, Sans remembers Frisk's resets and genocide due to glitches. Sans converses with Frisk that they have a unique "good ending", and asks Frisk when he is going to reset. He does not believe Frisk when he tries to promise he would not reset, seeing as Frisk might get bored, so he asks Frisk to tell him when he would reset.

Continue 307

Later, at Toriel's House, Sans sees Frisk in front of his SAVE file dialogue box. At first, he assumes that Frisk is going to reset, but to his surprise, Frisk destroys the Reset button, promising that he will never reset again, and that now he just wants to continue. Sans, delighted by this, says that they really were friends. Meanwhile, a woman ponders about how humans are well with monsters returning to the surface. She dislikes the idea of them being equal, as she is the head of the Anti-Monsters Department, so she decides to try and enlighten the humans.
